Nike ChicaGO: House of Go
Thank you to Nike Chicago for both providing me with gear and the Nike React Flynit shoes and the training for the Shuffle, as well as the gear from these events. I'm very happy to partner with them for the launch of this EPIC shoe! Photos taken by their photographers unless otherwise designated.
So if you followed my social media from Thursday to Sunday, you probably saw my posts from a place that looks like a black light funhouse called House of Go here in Chicago. I was there so much my friend Alex who works in the Nike Store adjacent sent a text and asked "Did you move in next door?"
What that is, is a Nike Experiential Marketing pop-up in the old Cole Haan space next to Niketown Chicago promoting their new shoe, the Epic React. I've been training in them with a small group of athletes with Nike Chicago for the Shamrock Shuffle 8k on March 25. In addition to the funhouse, there's a treadmill studio a la Mile High Run Club for 100% free offering 30 minute tread workouts and the opportunity to test the shoe. Overall, it's a totally kick ass experience, and you can sign up HERE every Sunday at 2pm prior to the week's workouts.
While my training group will be working out there every Saturday at noon, I also got to be part of the test group that went in opening night, March 1. I went with aSweatLife as an ambassador and it was really, really cool. We arrived and headed upstairs to the studio, where we checked in and headed to a locker room, where we found a locker with our name and got our goodies: a full outfit and a pair of the Nike REACTS! My locker was just the outfit, as I had gotten the shoes the week before, but it was super cool to open a locker of surprises!
From there we mingled, learned a bit about the shoe from a Nike Ekin, and then headed up for our workout with Jessica (@jeslynnyc), a run coach from Nike NYC, who is also a former coach at Mile High Run Club. Our treadmills had a House of Go Towel and Nike React Swell-style bottle on them, as well as a pace card. Jessica went through the basics and we were off on a sick workout, complete with hills and sprints. I got in just over 2 miles, and then we cooled down and headed downstairs for dinner catered by True Food Kitchen, and a trip through the funhouse!
I went back Friday at 5:45 and did it again so that I could run with the ambassadors not at the previous night's events. A lot of the photos I'm going to share are from that night rather than the first, but the promo video on the Nike website I linked above is from the influencer night and I'm in the background of a few of the shots! I also made a cool gif with Stephen when we went through Saturday! Make sure you do that station when you go through.
Okay, okay. Now to the photos. Be sure to come back here to follow along as I continue my Shuffle training, and again you can sign up for a treadmill class at the House of Go HERE!
